OutSystems Platform Updates: Boosting Capabilities in 2024 (Q1)

The OutSystems team has recently rolled out a series of significant updates for ODC and P11. With both products receiving regular updates, the momentum remains high, accompanied by the introduction of numerous impactful features.

Keeping up with the constant influx of updates can be challenging for many of us involved in the development and delivery of low-code applications. To ensure that none of the latest developments are missed, I’ve compiled a brief list of the most recent technical updates from the OutSystems team on this first quarter of 2024:

OutSystems Updates for ODC and P11 (Q1 2024)

Database Integration — Generally available connector in ODC for seamless connectivity with PostgreSQL variants, such as Vanilla, Azure and Aurora.

Enterprise Integration — SAP OData Connector now generally available in ODC, facilitating access to SAP data services.

Data Integration — Introduction of Data Fabric for ODC which simplifies access and integration of complex enterprise data into applications.

CRM Integration — Salesforce Connector generally available to streamline integration and reduce complexity.

Development Tools— Debugger for applications in ODC and Service Studio is now supported on Microsoft Edge for Windows.

Application Architecture — Event-Driven Architecture available to create and consume events between OutSystems applications for real-time data processing.

Platform Compatibility —Upgraded support for Windows 11 in Service Studio, ODC Studio, and Integration Studio.

Artificial Intelligence — Introduction of AI Agent Builder, available in ODC Forge, to facilitate integration of generative AI into applications.

Database Management — Enhanced control for external entities in ODC with support for NULL behavior configuration.

Security — ODC app security for continuous checks of apps for security vulnerabilities and provides patches through 1-Click Publish.

Cloud Expansion — ODC Expansion to a new cloud geography to reduce latency and cope with new regions data residency needs.

Performance — Log Streaming in O11 that facilitates near real-time app log data streaming to third-party monitoring tools.

The amount of updates from the OutSystems team seems to be reflecting the commitment of enhancing and enriching our development experience in both platforms (ODC and P11). In particular, it’s visible that OutSystems Developer Cloud is gaining momentum on important updates.
