The year of 2020 is almost over, and in many aspects has been a particular year. Business and operations became more dependent on e-commerce generally. In this new-normal world, where online presence is growing faster than ever before, IT leaders are challenged by mounting application delivery, mainly due to shortages of developers and software skills.

To bring the speed of development, Low-Code Application Platforms (LCAP) are continuously shaped to increase accessibility, of cross-functional-teams, and help developers leverage their existing skills to useful results.

OutSystems, that was recognized again as a Leader for Low-Code Application Platforms in Gartner Magic Quadrant, continues to further incorporate AI-based capabilities into this productive ecosystem, built for the future.

Talking about the future, the assumption of Gartner is that “by 2023, over 50% of medium to large enterprises will have adopted an LCAP as one of their strategic application platforms.”

It’s great to see that OutSystems continues to offer an industry of leading built-in-ready tools, allowing developers to achieve their goals and recently supporting a new domain: designing experiences (Experience Builder). Giving more power to complement existing development domains: User Interfaces, Application Logic, and Data Services.

Along the way, OutSystems leverages education with AI assistants and free online learning materials: never before was so easy to skill-up talent in our OutSystems tools as nowadays.

Reasons enough for OutSystems to have announced, this year during NextStep event, that they would continue to combine Low-Code and Artificial Intelligence to create apps faster and easier.

Resuming, OutSystems continues to deliver value for companies, and to help them recognize the importance of building apps at speed providing good experiences. The formula is simple: 1) build fast; 2) build right; 3) build for the future. And to implement this, new components were announced:

  1. A new Experience Builder for a rapid prototype, new Workflow Builder to enable visual mapping of business processes, a new Integration Builder to reduce integration efforts, and AI assistant to automate the most common use cases.
  2. An upgraded Architecture Dashboard to validate and guide architecture developments, and AppShield to reduce additional apps security risks.
  3. Upgraded TrueChange engine ensuring consistency, and a Machine Learning Builder for personalized experiences.

Reasons enough to understand why several customers — as Vopak, FICO, Santander — find that OutSystems is critical to address their business needs and digital transformation journeys in their organizations.
